Min, I used 2 strands of yarn, a light grey and light blue with a huge (golden color) hook - cant remember what size though.

Reen, No joining. Just go round and round and round.. Good for watching telly project! And the Flowers, I made them as per bookmark pattern and then thread though the double crochet stitch with the extra inside the bag to string things with and hauling them out of the bag instead of digging around!
