The tiny work-in-progress is a new thread (a shade darker than the original Petra)

Mmph, my Chinese spoon collection

Started collecting Chinese spoons recently and here's what I have todate:

Valentine Stuff

We went out for a Valentine Day function at the club cos hubby was leaving for New York on 15th Feb. The event was fully booked and the majority of the guests were our age and older! There were two couples in their eighties who took to the dance floor with grace! Its amazing to see the guests really enjoying themselves.

When we were kids, only the winner gets a prize but that night, for all the fun games, all participants get rewarded! LOL

And the delicious menu was planned with, what else? a romance theme ~ love songs!

Starter:
"Eternally"

(Trio Anti Pasto)

Combination of salted mushroom, grill vegetables and salmon capriccio

Soup:
"Love Portion Number 9"
Sweet Potato Yam Soup served with bread & butter

Main course: I had
"You Decorated My Life"
Braised Lamb Shank, served with mushroom, rice, baked tomato & grilled vegetables

While DH eat:
"Endless Love"
Rolled Seabass with Lemon Hollandaise Sauce, served with pesto potato, asparagus & grilled capsicum

Dessert:
"Only You"
Cold Orange Cheese Cake, served with strawberry sauce

Lastly:
"Wonderful Tonight"
meant coffee or tea

All in all, we had a lovely time even though we did not take to the dance floor.

Strawberry box was my party favor and the crystal bracelet, a gift from DH

Chinese New Year Eve Dinner ~ 2007

We just came back from this year's CNY eve dinner hosted by my brother, John and his gurlfriend, Foon Fong.

Also present were Foon Fong's 2nd Brother and his family, wife ~ Jamilah, kids ~ Selena, Iskandar and Julia; her 3rd (& youngest) brother, my Auntie Karen, Yatie and Diyana, Mom and myself.

Hubby is currently in New York visiting his two other children with his newly married eldest son and his new daughter-in-law. A first reunion for them in more than 7 years.

We went back to Foon Fong's place for coffee after the dinner. Iskandar asked Diyana why she speaks Malay with Yatie and Diyana replied: cos I am like you mah!

Koong Hee Yuat Sai (Hainanese) to all of you and hope to see some of you soon! Posted some pictures taken at the dinner.

Chef N Brew's Cili Burger

I had a bowl of noodles for breakfast this morning followed up with two bananas and an orange! So no surprise that I did not feel hungry until 2.30pm! And here's what I eat for lunch!

Bedspread Finally!

I finally picked up my thread for the HAP (huge ass project) of mine, the King Size Bedspread! Its DMC Petra Art. 993 AB Size 5, Col 5964! 10 balls came home with me from Adelene plus a new Tulip hook 1.75mm with a plastic finger grip! Easier on the fingers while crocheting a huge piece!

And I finished the 1st square today itself! But I would need to complete a minimum of 3 squares a WEEK to have it completed (1 year from today? LOL)
